In week 15, the following topics were discussed:
- Continuous Distribution – Expressed in terms of function, probability is found using integration, Expected Value E(X), Variance VAR(X)
- Special Distribution — Normal
- symmetrical bell shape curve
- 2 parameters (μ, σ2), where μ is the population mean, and σ is the population standard deviation
- to find the probability, we need to use the Standard Normal table Z ~ N(0,1) where Z = (X – μ)/σ
- Sampling Distribution of the Mean
- distribution of all the sample mean, X bar
- If X ~ N(μ, σ2), then X bar ~ N(μ, σ2/n)
- to find the probability, we need to use the Standard Normal table Z ~ N(0,1) where Z = ( X bar – μ)/(σ/
n)

In week 14, the following topics were discussed:
- Discrete Distribution – Expressed in the form of a table, Expected Value E(X), Variance VAR(X)
- Special Distribution — Binomial
- 2 outcomes, namely success/failure
- 2 parameters (n, p), where n is the number of trials, p is the probability of success
- Special Distribution — Poisson
- average number of outcome per time interval or per specified region
- 1 parameter (λ Lambda), where λ is the average number of outcome
- Note that λ value will need to be changed according to situations
